LIFE: WORKPLACE OR PLAYGROUND? THE FULFILLMENT OF
HUMANNESS
A Conference for Young People at the Seminary in Chicago, June
14 - June 19, 2008
What am I to do with my life? The world is so full of possibilities
for work and for play. Do talents matter? Is work to be my life? Is
life to be my work? How can I make a difference in the world?
“All work can be divine service?” What does this mean? Can altars be
built not only in a church but also outside, in a field, a classroom,
on a stage, in an office, in a lab? What if all work could be
voluntary and we get paid to live and to do more voluntary work?
Such questions will be the focus of the week.
Artistic activities and play as well as a city excursion will
complement contributions and conversations. Once arrived, we will plan
the details of the conference together.
